There are many things that can stain or discolor teeth, from certain kinds of food and drink to the natural aging process. However, whitening teeth is easy and fast with our simple bleaching procedure. Schedule a teeth whitening appointment and achieve the beautiful smile you’ve always dreamed of.
How does the bleaching procedure work?
Dental bleaching uses a special bleaching agent to alter the color of your teeth over several weeks. This process can be started at any time, and you can customize your treatment to target certain teeth. Some patients prefer to whiten only the upper or lower teeth, depending on which teeth they show while talking or smiling. Alternatively, you can always whiten both.
First, we take an impression of your teeth which is used to create custom bleach splints. These devices hold the bleach against your teeth to maintain maximum effectiveness. The splints take only a day or two to manufacture. When you pick them up, we provide you with the bleaching agent which you then insert into the splints. The bleaching agent bubbles stains out of your teeth’s enamel without affecting existing dental work or changing your teeth’s structure.
How long does the bleaching procedure take?
Use the bleaching agent for about three to four hours every day for several weeks. At the end of the treatment period, you’ll be amazed at the remarkable improvement in your teeth’s appearance. In consultation with your dentist, you’ll decide how long you want to continue the treatment to achieve the desired brightness. Once you’re done, take good care of your teeth to maintain your results. And make sure to visit us so we can take an “after” picture!
What other teeth whitening procedures are available?
You may have noticed that pharmacies and drug stores sell over-the-counter bleaching agents. Some of these products can harm the gums and teeth. Follow our recommendations to find the best teeth whitening products for you. Though bleaching is very effective, a dental crown or porcelain veneer may be more suitable for some teeth with severe stains. At your appointment, we’ll determine if bleaching is right for you.
